The 2024 Sacramento Snake Festival was a Spectacular Success
In celebration of snakes and nature, on May 11th Save The Snakes held our third annual Sacramento Snake Festival!
This free, family friendly event raised local awareness for the snake conservation efforts of Save The Snakes and celebrated our amazing snake neighbors! Hundreds of people from all over California came out to show their support.
SnakeFest was a full, fun day of smiles and scales!
A total of 550 community members attended SnakeFest, ~$7,350 was raised for Save The Snakes’ international snake conservation efforts, and tens of thousands learned about the event on social media and through the local news (Good Day Sacramento and Fox 40’s Studio Live).
People enjoyed learning about snakes from California and around the world, discovered solutions on how to coexist peacefully with snakes, and some even conquered their fears about snakes!
Special Thanks to these SnakeFest Supporters
SnakeFest would not have been possible without our dedicated Save The Snakes volunteers and snake-friendly exhibitors: Northern California Herpetological Society, Effie Yeaw Nature Center, Sacramento Splash, Latino Outdoors, Stone Pine Studios, United States Geological Survey’s Giant Gartersnake Team, Emily Taylor, Sacramento-Yolo Mosquito & Vector Control District, and Prairie City Vehicular Recreation Area Nature Interpretation.
A special shout out to Hedgerow Farms for donating the use of their canopies, Cascabel de Dos Rios for their incredible music played during the event, and Namaste Foods for the delicious food and drinks!
Made possible by the generosity of Snake Fencing, Rattlesnake Proof Fencing Solutions, Pets To Go, and Westervelt Ecological Services, SnakeFest was an incredible day to celebrate snakes!
Stay tuned for SnakeFest 2025!
