I have incredible memories of our kids’ birthday parties. One of my favorite memories is listening to my grandpa swoon over my baked beans! I can just hear him now. I miss him and think of him every time I make this yummy recipe.

This recipe is a crowd favorite and in my opinion, is even better the next day. So, go ahead and say yes to having that crowd of people over to celebrate life! These beans go a long way and are excellent for a few days after.
Annie’s Cowboy Bean Recipe
-
1 lb. ground beef (cooked with the onion)
-
1 lb. bacon fried and cut up (I often just use the bacon pieces)
-
1 onion (dried onion flakes work well too!)
-
2 large cans of baked beans
-
1 can dark red kidney beans
-
1 can light red kidney beans
-
1 can Northern beans
-
1 C. ketchup
-
½ C. brown sugar
-
1 TB liquid smoke (this makes the recipe shine! Don’t skip!)
-
3 TB vinegar
-
1 tsp. salt
-
Dash of pepper
Combine all ingredients in a medium-sized crock pot and cook on low heat for four hours, stirring occasionally. Enjoy!
