There is no doubt that dogs love grass! Great guardians want to give their dogs the world, but our busier and busier lives mean multiple trips to the park each day can be difficult – particularly when it’s raining, snowing, late at night or too hot on the pavement for your pooch. Sadly for those who live in apartments, this has made having a dog very difficult in the past – but it doesn’t have to be today.
I struggled with winter morning walks after rain in particular
Dressed in my suit for work, I would take my two wonderful dachshunds Tinkerbell and Bambi on their 6am toilet walk each morning before heading to the office. One morning stands out when the grass was muddy and wet from overnight rain, and I experienced a slapstick comedy moment fit for a Bridget Jones flick. My foot slipped in the mud, propelling me into the air and then back down flat on my back with a slosh from the mud. I walked home with hunched shoulders against the cold and the back of my suit and hair dripping with mud – I knew things should be different. A short while later, City Doggo was born.

When I introduced the Oui Oui Patch to our dachshund Tinkerbell, she took to it instinctively. I keep the Oui Oui Patch on the balcony and mist it on arrival and daily to keep it fresh and hydrated. Poos should always be removed as soon as possible to avoid damaging the grass and deterring dogs from using the same space again.
Nowadays, walks with Tinkerbell are solely for enrichment, exercise and socialisation. I can’t tell you what a relief it is not having to wait out in the rain hoping for my dog to take a toilet break. Tinkerbell agrees – she’s a total diva and REFUSES to get her paws wet in the rain.
